NAWIC QLD | SITE TOUR: PACIFIC MOTORWAY - EIGHT MILE PLAINS TO DAISY HILL UPGRADE

NAWIC QLD, together with the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Bielby Hull Joint Venture, invites you to join us for an exclusive site tour of the Pacific Motorway: Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill (EMP2DH) Upgrade, including upgrades to the M1 and a new bus station and park ‘n’ ride at Rochedale, currently under construction.

Watland Street to Sports Drive Upgrade

Nearing the final stages of construction, the Pacific Motorway (M1) is being upgraded as part of a rolling program of upgrades between the Gateway and Logan Motorways.

The M1 Upgrade aims to increase capacity, reliability, and safety for motorists, and active and public transport connectivity for local residents.

More than 150,000 vehicles use the motorway between Eight Mile Plains and Daisy Hill every day, including 12,000 heavy vehicles, reflecting its function as a national freight corridor.

The project’s key features include:
  • Widening the M1 up to 4 southbound lanes between north of Exit 19 (Rochedale Road) to Logan Road
  • widening the M1 up to 4 northbound lanes between the Watland Street overpass and the old Sports Drive on-ramp
  • extending the South East Busway to Springwood bus station
  • a new M1 on-ramp at Lexington Road
  • widening Rochedale Road to three southbound lanes from the Rochedale Road off-ramp (Exit 19) to Springwood Road
  • extending the V1 Veloway cycleway to Park Road
  • Smart Motorways technologies to help reduce 'stop-start' travel on the motorway.

Rochedale bus station and park ’n’ ride

  • Visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the Rochedale bus station and park ’n’ ride being constructed as part of the EMP2DH upgrade. The bus station will connect with the South East Busway extension to provide local residents with greater access to public transport and improve their travel time reliability.
  • Join us for an insightful look into the engineering and construction challenges of these significant transport infrastructure projects and see firsthand how innovative solutions are being implemented to benefit the community.

Please join us afterwards for some networking and an opportunity to mingle with fellow members.

Please note: BYO PPE required for this site tour (steel-capped boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat, gloves and safety glasses).

Ticket Prices:
