Galuwa Recreation Centre
Join us for a tour of Galuwa Recreation Centre by AJC Architects, a new sport and community hub in Lane Cove that opened to the public in early
2026. Atter more than 15 years of planning, consultation, design and construction, the project represents a major milestone for sport, recreation and community life on Sydney's Lower North Shore.
The name Galuwa comes from the Sydney Aboriginal language meaning "to climb", reflecting the centre's focus on growth, activity and community connection. Set within a bushland landscape, the centre is designed to foster a strong connection to nature and is organised around a central internal promenade that seamlessly connects eight indoor and outdoor courts with recreation and community spaces.
