NAWIC SA | DECARBONISING THE BUILDING SECTOR

Decarbonising the Building Sector

Join NAWIC and the Adelaide Sustainable Building Network (ASBN) in an engaging discussion with seasoned professionals on past driving forces around sustainability, what is shaping current net zero targets and what things we can anticipate in the future as we all take necessary steps toward a decarbonised building sector.

The built environment is responsible for nearly half the world’s raw material use and landfill waste, and one third of emissions. Therefore, the building sector will be a critical component of a decarbonising economy. Property and development organisations and governments are advancing climate action across their building portfolios, delivering net zero assets now to support the transition to more resilient, comfortable, durable, and productive spaces and places. But, deeper industry collaboration and action is required to decarbonise and drive the transition, while activating low carbon solutions across supply chains and moving towards a circular economy approach in the built environment.

Panel Facilitator:

  • Ken Long, Adelaide Sustainable Building Network (ASBN)

Panel Members:

  • Emma Clark – Design Manager (Built)
  • Lina Rico Gomez – ESG Manager (Charter Hall)
  • Deborah Davidson – Sustainability and ESD Specialist (dsquared Consulting)

The Adelaide Sustainable Building Network (ASBN) is a not for profit organisation which advocates the uptake of sustainable and ecologically beneficial practices within all industries linked to the built environment. We actively promote, educate, connect, collaborate, facilitate and aim to ignite positive actions towards sustainable built environments.

The NAWIC SA Chapter thanks our ongoing chapter sponsors for their support.
