Recently promoted to Principal, Annabel brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to her role at Hassell. She has been the lead design architect for major UK and Australian projects.  Her expertise positions her to contribute meaningfully to complex mixed-use residential and commercial developments. Annabel balances state infrastructure needs, commercial development pressures, and community insights, thriving on bringing together competing design pressures to create successful places that bring people joy.
 
Annabel is passionate about architecture for the public good and is a founding director of Scale Rule, a community company that increases access to the built environment through education and community build projects. This initiative was a finalist for the RIBA MacEwan ‘Architecture for the Common Good’ award. Annabel is also a recognised thought leader on the circular economy, leading EU-funded research on the reuse of timber from demolition sites and delivering an innovative off-grid visitor centre in London.
 
In her career, Annabel has served as a Committee Member for the British Council for Offices, on the RIBA Educational Steering Committee, and as Director of the Peer 20 Women in Property Network. She contributes to publications such as ArchDaily and the Australian Design Review, reflecting on contemporary architectural practice, and continues her research on the circular economy through her work with Circuit EU.
