VISION STATEMENT
An equitable construction industry where women fully participate
INCREASE WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS
Actively encourage all industry sectors to employ women in leadership
and decision-making
roles so that whole-of-industry policy and cultural change is achieved actively and
purposefully.
FOCUS ON EDUCATION
To identify and create clear pathways for women
to have a career in construction, from
school students through to senior leaders.
PUT GENDER ON THE TENDER
To advocate for minimum of 30% female participation
in all construction projects across both
white and blue collar roles.
REDUCE GENDER PAY GAP

parity into the future.
INCREASE RETENTION
Increase the attraction and retention of women in the workplace
by encouraging the
continuation of flexible working hours, flexible working practices and flexible workplaces.
CHAMPION POSITIVE CHANGE
To develop NAWIC guidelines for best practice in achieving both gender diversity and pay
parity,
while also encouraging industry leaders to actively implement, review and improve
their practices in accordance with the guidelines.
