A DISRUPTIVE DISCUSSION WITH THE FEMALE LEADERS OF CONSTRUCTION

NAWIC NSW invites you to join us for a discussion with the women making strides in the construction industry. With support from our long time sponsor Lendlease, the event will be hosted by Stephanie Graham – Executive General Manager for Lendlease Building - and moderated by co-founder of Cultivate Katriina Tahka. Breakfast will be served over an open and honest conversation about the state of construction and women’s role in it.

Katriina is Managing Director + Co-Founder (along with Dr Natalie Galea) of Cultivate Sponsorship (an online development program designed specifically to demolish barriers to gender equality in male dominated industries) and she is CEO of A Human Agency (workplace culture and behaviour consulting firm that specializes in building D&I in construction and infrastructure). Katriina has a deep commitment to building inclusion and belonging and was appointed as the Deputy Chair and D&I Advisor of the Roads Australia I&D Committee in recognition of her expertise in the area. She is also the D&I Advisor to Australian Flexible Pavements Association and Cement, Concrete and Aggregates Australia.

Gabrielle French - Director, Aussie Girls on the Tools
2022 NAWIC IWD Scholarship Winner (sponsored by Cult and funded by Lendlease)

Gabrielle was the winner of NAWIC’s International Women's Day 2022 Scholarship. She is the director of Aussie Girls On The Tools - advocating for the Psychological Safety of Apprentices and Women in Trades. Gabrielle works involves holding employers accountable for failing to train apprentices or meeting their training contracts, and aims to make employers liable for disrupting an apprentice's career trajectory. She holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science focused in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from University of South Australia, is an experienced Technical Security Consultant.

Belinda Bentley - Director, 9Springs 
NAWIC 2021 Business Woman of the Year (sponsored by Laing O’Rourke)

Belinda is the Founding Director of 9Springs, an independent property group specialising in real estate investment, development/project management and strategic advisory on behalf of family offices, private corporations, governments, not-for-profit organisations and listed entities. Belinda is a Non-Executive Director of Link Wentworth Housing, one of Australia’s largest Community Housing Providers serving 10,000 residents in around 6,400 homes. Belinda is the recipient of the UDIA National and NSW Women in Leadership Awards for Excellence and the NAWIC NSW Laing O’Rourke Business Woman of the Year Award.

Dominique Gill - Managing Director, Urban Core
NAWIC 2021 Crystal Vision winner (sponsored by Lendlease)

Dominique Gill has been working in construction for over 20 years. She started her career as an architect, and after only a few years, decided to become a licensed builder. She worked for a large construction firm as a Project Manager for 8 years delivering major fitout projects. In 2016, she decided to start her own construction company and created Urban Core, delivering major projects in office fitout, retail and industrial. This year her company was recognised with its first Master Builders Association of NSW Award for Excellence in Construction. Dominique recently received the NAWIC NSW 2021 Lendlease Crystal Vision Award for Excellence, and was also a finalist in the NAWIC NSW 2021 Business Woman of the Year Award as well as a previous winner of the NAWIC Project Manager of the Year Award.
