
NAWIC WA | ANNUAL CHAPTER MEETING 2023: CALL FOR NOMINATIONS!
Dear members,
In accordance with the Chapter Management Policy, we hereby call for nominations for the WA Chapter council. The purpose of the Chapter Management Policy is to ensure that Chapters of NAWIC are structured and operate within the requirements set by NAWIC. The Policy defines the requirements for the creation, establishment, and management of chapters, including the nomination and election of Office Bearers. We would also like to invite you to our WA Annual Chapter meeting, which will be held on Friday 24th of November to inform our members of the year’s activities, finances and appoints the Council for 2024!
Office Bearer Positions up for nomination
- President
- Vice President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Partnership Chair
- Committee Members
There will also be Council Chair positions up for nomination.

For Office Bearer positions, candidates must complete a short questionnaire that addresses the following criteria:
- Must have been a NAWIC member for at least 2 years;
- Must have held a Chair or committee role for at least 1 year;
- Must be a leader within their current organisation and have managed budgets, teams, events, etc. as relevant to the Office Bearer position; and
- Must demonstrate commitment to the NAWIC values and vision etc.
Office Bearers can only be appointed if they meet the selection criteria outlined above.
In alignment with the NAWIC Chapter Management Policy, the following election timeframes will apply:
Nominations open: 16th of October 2023
Nominations close: 30th of October 2023
An election will only be held for those roles which have two or more nominees or in the case of two nominees, where the Board has not approved a co-office bearer role.
Elections will be called following the close of the nominations. Nominees may provide a short statement (no more than 250 words) to support their nomination which will be visible to all voting. The election will be held via an online survey where Chapter members may place their vote for each of the respective office bearer roles. Voting will be open for a period of 7 days.
In the case of a draw during the election the NAWIC Chair will place the deciding vote.
