Join Icon Metal & NAWIC NSW for a tour of Icon Metal’s fabrication facility, and witness the fabrication of architectural metalwork and specialist structural steel.

 

Following the success of our first technical workshop last year, NAWIC are excited to announce 2022's Interactive Technical Workshop in partnership with Icon Metal!

Tickets for this event are very limited so get in early!

Icon Metal are one of Australia’s leading specialists in architectural metalwork and structural steel. They are renowned for their iconic feature stairs in Quay Quarter
Tower, CBA Darling Square, Sydney University School of Business as well as installing specialist metalwork for the Sydney Opera House, Luna Park and Barangaroo.
 
As well as a being an industry leader in specialist metalwork, Icon Metal boast a female participation rate of 17%, Not a simple feat when the construction industry average is 12%.
 
This unique technical workshop will provide the opportunity for participants to experience first-hand in a live environment the intricate workings of a specialist metalwork factory. You will have the rare opportunity to witness the lifecycle of a piece of architectural steelwork, from the raw material to the beautifully crafted end product, whilst exploring Icon Metal's fabrication workshop.
 
Attendees will be able to participate in a panel discussion and hear directly from Icon Metal's CEO Stephen Pribula and leading women Ana Rios (HR Manager), Carolina Oliveria (Senior Contracts Engineer) and Bethan Farmer (Business Development Manager), on how Icon Metal have grown their business and successfully increased female participation through creating an inclusive work culture.

2021 NAWIC Trade Award Finalist, Sheila Roberto from Rabs Plumbing, will also share her career insights and experiences.

Note: Attendees are to Bring Your Own hi-vis vest and safety glasses if possible. Attendees are required to wear Steel Capped Boots. Earplugs will be provided if necessary.  There is parking onsite and Icon’s premises is fully accessible with a lift to the upper floor if required.
