The 2008 South Australian Awards for Excellence were held during August at La Vista.  After the sucess of 2007's inaugral event South Australia was pleased to present a further three award categories.  The SA Awards for Excellence are an opportunity to celebrate and recognise women and their achievements in the construction industry.

Crystal Vision Award



The 2008 Crystal Vision Award was awarded to Debbie Marsh of Badge Constructions.  Debbie is also the current President of the South Australian chapter of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

This category celebrates achievements with vision - those who saw a role for women in the construction industry and promoted and encouraged women to progress in the industry.

Baulderstone Hornibrook Award for Excellence in Construction



The 2008 Baulderstone Hornibrook Award for Excellence in Construction was awarded to Ellen McInerney of McConnel Dowel for her work on the Bakewell Underpass.

This award celebrates the achievements of an outstanding individual who has contributed to a construction project in a management or supervisory role.

Lincolne Scott Award for Contribution to Sustainability




The 2008 Lincolne Scott Award for Contribution to Sustainability was awarded to Daniella Di Ciocco of Baulderstone Hornibrook for her work on City Central Towers 1 and 2.

This category is open to entrants with achievement in sustainabile practices within the construction industry including sustainable design, environmental management, ecology, environmental policy, stakeholder engagement and community engagement and development.

Flooring Trade Depot Award for Outstanding Achievement in Design



The 2008 Floor Trade Depot Award for Outstanding Achievement in Design was awarded to Sharon Mackay of HASSELL for her work on the Adelaide Zoo, South East Asian Rainforest Stage 2 project.

This award celebrates the acheivements of an outstanding individual who has contributed to a construction project in the areas of engineering, achitecture, urban or transport design.
